With over 44 years of experience in the oil, gas, and right-of-way industries, John A. Pehler is a seasoned Petroleum Landman with deep expertise in title research, curative work, lease negotiations, and project supervision. He has worked across multiple states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, and Texas, providing strategic land services to both independent operators and major energy companies. John has led large-scale leasing and title operations, managing crews of over 100 brokers, and has been instrumental in securing extensive acreage positions such as the 350,000+ net mineral acres in the Brown Dense play. His leadership roles span across major projects involving conventional oil and gas exploration, as well as right-of-way acquisition for pipeline and storage infrastructure. As the founder of Pehler & Associates, LLC, John continues to offer brokerage and consulting services tailored to the evolving energy sector. A graduate of the University of South Alabama with degrees in Economics and Political Science, John brings not only technical land skills but also a strong foundation in business and negotiation. His career has included co-ownership of investment and brokerage firms, where he was responsible for raising capital, managing investor relations, and executing high-value deals.

Henry M. Lyell is a highly experienced Petroleum Landman and GIS specialist with over four decades of involvement in the oil and gas industry. His career spans field landwork, title research, lease acquisition, curative, and advanced GIS mapping for both leasing and pipeline projects. Henry brings a rare combination of hands-on land expertise and technical proficiency with geospatial data systems, particularly ArcGIS Desktop and Microsoft Access. Since 2017, Henry has provided vital land and GIS services to Pehler & Associates, LLC, contributing to various energy infrastructure projects. His earlier roles as GIS lead with Sunbelt Resources, T.S. Dudley Land Company, and Pinebelt Energy Resources saw him at the forefront of integrating mapping technologies with land operations, where he managed complex datasets, created custom GIS solutions, and supported strategic leasing efforts. His fieldwork background includes title and curative services for clients such as EOG Resources, Denbury, and Southwestern Energy. Before returning to energy, Henry spent 15 years in financial services with major firms like Payne Webber, Prudential, and Morgan Stanley, managing over $100 million in client assets as a licensed financial advisor. He also spent nearly a decade as a self-employed landman in the early part of his career, giving him a well-rounded perspective on both project execution and business development. Henry studied Mathematics and Accounting at the University of Mississippi and is a member of both the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and the Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen (MAPL). Outside of work, he’s a competitive duplicate bridge player and avid freshwater fisherman.

Chris A. Adcock is a seasoned Contract Land Agent and Project Manager with over 25 years of experience in title abstracting, land acquisition, permitting, and utility easement construction. Based in Ellisville, Mississippi, Chris has successfully led land and pipeline projects across the Southeast—including Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas—offering deep expertise in FERC-regulated infrastructure development, CO₂ pipelines, and emerging carbon capture initiatives. As a long-time collaborator with Pehler & Associates, LLC, Chris has played a central role in major projects like the Port Arthur Pipeline (TX/LA), Denbury’s CCUS developments, and Hy Stor Energy initiatives. His responsibilities have ranged from landowner negotiations and easement documentation to full-cycle project management and GIS/data oversight. He also brings valuable permitting experience for utility crossings, maintaining strong landowner relationships throughout the construction process. In addition to his energy sector work, Chris is the founder of Capital City Land Title LLC, where he’s provided abstracting and notary services throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. Notably, he developed Louisiana’s first online real estate abstract ordering system and managed a team of independent abstractors serving diverse commercial and residential needs. Chris is highly skilled in Microsoft Office and project database management. His experience bridges traditional land services and modern infrastructure planning, making him a versatile asset to any land services or energy development team.
